Photo and signature resizer for online applications

Resizes a signature or photograph to the size and file-weight band a recruitment notice asks for. It runs on a canvas in your own browser tab, so the image never leaves your device — which is the reason to use it rather than an upload-based tool.

The specification it targets
The signature preset uses the numbers printed at para 11.10 of SSC’s Selection Posts notice for 2026:

The tool converts that to 709 × 236 pixels — 6.0 × 2.0 cm at 300 dpi.
The resolution is not arbitrary. The dimension and the file-size band in the notice only reconcile at scan resolution. At 144 dpi a clean signature compresses to around 5 KB and can never reach the 10 KB floor, whatever you do to the quality. At 300 dpi it lands inside the band on its own.
Photograph specifications vary between commissions far more than signature ones do. The photo preset uses 413 × 531 pixels — 35 × 45 mm at 300 dpi, a common Indian form size — at 20–50 KB. That is a sensible default, not a rule. Check the paragraph in your own notice before you rely on it.

Everyone worries about the file being too big. The rejection that actually happens is the other one.
A signature compressed hard to hit a size target comes out blurred, and blurred is the word the notice uses when it describes what gets rejected. If this tool tells you the output is under 10 KB, the answer is to scan again at a higher resolution — not to pad the file.
Scan on white paper. Crop tight to the signature itself, with a small margin. Do not photograph it off a screen.
The route that switches these rules off
Worth knowing before you spend an evening on this.
If you complete One Time Registration using Aadhaar-based authentication, SSC’s notice says your application will not be rejected on the ground that the photograph or signature is not as per the prescribed standards. It appears four separate times in section 11.
That route also means you need not carry photographs or original photo-ID to the examination venue.
It does not make a bad scan a good idea. It does mean the stakes are lower than the rejection language suggests.
